Watch Boeing 747 cargo plane mid-air fire
Published on

A Boeing 747 cargo plane operated by Atlas Air experienced an engine fire mid-air shortly after taking off from Miami.

The incident occurred on a relatively new aircraft, certified by the FAA in November 2015. A hole, approximately the size of a softball, was discovered above engine number 2. Despite the frightening situation, the flight, numbered 5Y95, managed to make a safe return to Miami just 14 minutes after departure.
