A woman is facing charges after allegedly stealing a Regina Police Service (RPS) car and crashing it on Wednesday night.Police were called to 8 Ave. around 5:30 p.m. about a woman needing assistance. When officers arrived, they found Sydney Budden, 18. She did not need help and the police drove her to a place where she was going to stay.While an officer was checking if Budden could stay there, she allegedly jumped into the driver's seat of the police car. The officer tried to stop her, but Budden allegedly drove away.Police tracked the stolen car using GPS. About 35 minutes later, at 6:05 p.m., the police car hit another vehicle at Dewdney Avenue and McCarthy Boulevard. No one was severely injured.Officers quickly arrived and arrested Budden.She now faces three charges, which are stealing a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, and possessing stolen property worth more than $5,000.Budden is set to appear in court on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
