FBI sniper Lon Horiuchi, who claimed he believed the men were about to fire on a helicopter, pulled the trigger and wounded Weaver. The trio headed back to the house where Vicki stood behind a door holding her baby. Horiuchi, with his sights on Harris, fired and hit Vicki in the face, killing her. Harris was seriously wounded..Finally, on August 31, special forces soldier Bo Gritz convinced Weaver to surrender. Weaver was charged with several crimes including murder and conspiracy.
