A driver in south Georgia did his best — or worst — Evel Knievel impersonation, speeding down the interstate and going airborne on a tow truck’s flatbed..WSBTV in Atlanta obtained a body camera video from the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office from the May 24 crash that shows deputies on the side of a traffic incident on the Georgia highway, when a car comes from the opposite direction on the outside lane and doesn’t slow down..The car goes up the back of the tow truck and flips through the air..One of the deputies immediately runs towards the car to help the driver, who Georgia State Patrol (GSP) said survived the crash, but was hospitalized with serious injuries..According to the GSP report, the car flew approximately 120-ft over the tow truck and hit another car in the back, then the car traveled another 23-ft after impact with the other car..“It’s unclear what, if any, charges will be filed against the driver, who remains hospitalized with serious injuries,” reported WSBTV..A deputy was injured by flying debris, but was released from hospital in good condition..Georgia State Patrol Lt. Crystal Zion told ABC News the crash stresses the importance of Georgia’s Move Over Law..“It takes out the distractions of driving fast or phones or other people in the car. Basically, you know, when you see those lights to slow down, move over,” Zion said.
