Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) unveiled a promotional video for its professional slapping organization, called Power Slap. .The video launched during UFC 280, right before fighters Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira competed in the main event. .It shows Barstool Sports Rough N’ Rowdy fighter One Eyed Wolf and other competitors having their faces slapped. . Power SlapPower Slap .The video goes on to mention the introductory press conference will be held in New York City Nov. 11. .Power slapping has been around for years, but it has been mostly underground. That was until UFC president Dana White became involved. .Slap fighting consists of two competitors standing across a small table from one another and taking turns slapping each other until a person cannot continue or quits. .Slap fighting has seen large size disparities between competitors in the past, which the UFC will eliminate through weight classes. .UFC executive Hunter Campbell said he sees a huge opportunity for growth. .Campbell said plans for Power Slap’s first event are not set, but he's gunning to lock down a television deal before the end of 2022. .The Nevada State Athletic Commission voted to recognize slap fighting as a sport on Oct. 18. .“The Nevada State Athletic Commission determined that ‘Slap Fighting’ contests or exhibitions feature blows struck which may reasonably be expected to inflict injury, therefore it qualifies as unarmed combat and thus falls under the jurisdiction of the Nevada Athletic Commission,” said the organization. .All slap fighting contests or exhibitions need its approval and must comply with regulatory requirements.
