Calgary Pastor Artur Pawlowski was released from the Calgary Remand Centre on Wednesday under strict bail conditions..His release follows 51 days of continuous incarceration between the Edmonton and Calgary remand centres, many days of which were spent in forced solitary confinement and under what he said were excessive and cruel conditions..The maverick pastor has held longstanding objections to what he considers to be gross government overreach at federal and provincial levels regarding their imposition and management of vaccine mandates and pandemic restrictions..He has repeatedly communicated his belief in the importance of remaining resolute in challenging and opposing government pandemic policies he sees as unjustifiable and authoritarian in the context of issues pertaining to Canadian civil liberties..Pawlowski was under strict bail conditions immediately he stepped out onto the pavement from the Calgary Remand Centre Wednesday afternoon. Under threat of re-arrest and detention, he was not permitted to speak to, or even wave to his supporters who had lined the sidewalks outside the building on his release to offer support..Other bail conditions include house curfew from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and house arrest — a combination Pawlowski said was nonsensical and over-the-top. He is permitted, however, to leave the house once per week to attend church. He is also allowed visitors while under house arrest and can post on social media..He is prohibited from attending protests of any kind or any meeting with the public..Pawlowski will have to pay $25,000 in bail as well as a $10,000 surety from his wife and an additional $2,000 from his son..He is charged with breaching an order to keep the peace and with committing mischief by inciting others to block use of public property..In an interview with Rebel News, Pawlowski’s lawyer, Sarah Miller, said that “ultimately,” the judge “made the right decision and released Artur Pawlowski from prison on the conditions that we proposed. They are quite strict.”.Pawlowski believes he is being persecuted because he has amassed huge national support from across Canada..“I have been and I’m still a prisoner of conscience a political prisoner, because I have become so popular,” he told the Western Standard. “They don’t want the people to know how popular I have become — you know, real law-abiding Canadians that actually value the rights and freedoms and who stand by the Constitution.”.When asked by the Western Standard how he plans to spend all his time under house arrest, he said “I will be writing a book, and you are the first to know.”.Pawlowski said his book will tell the world of the human rights abuses he feels he has endured under Kenney’s government and his experiences in the judicial system, also the injustices he feels have been perpetrated against him and Canadians throughout the pandemic era..The pastor had a message for his supporters..“I want to thank all my thousands of supporters who have been with me and supported me throughout all of this. I could not have made it this far without them,” Pawlowski said..People who want to contribute to Pawlowski’s legal fund can visitâ¯SaveArtur.com.â¯All money raised goes toward the Democracy Fund, a registered Canadian charity supporting Canadians to fund legal action..Amanda Brown is a reporter with the Western Standard.,.abrown@westernstandardonline.com.,.Twitter: @WS_JournoAmanda
