Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema has changed her party affiliation from Democrat to independent because she is done with partisanship. .“We make decisions about what’s best for ourselves, our family, and our community,” said Sinema in a Friday video. .“We don’t spend a lot of time thinking about, ‘is this a Republican idea or is this a Democratic idea?’” .Sinema said this approach is not how Arizonans think. What Arizonans think about is what is right for their family, community, and future. .She said there is no experience better than waking up in Arizona. She added people are able to wake up in the morning and think to themselves they live in a place where they can be whoever they want to be. .The senator went on to say what she loves about serving is she can “hear from Arizonans day in and day out about what’s working in Washington or, more frequently, what’s not working in Washington.” She said she is grateful people have trusted her to address their concerns. .Sinema said she promised to be an independent voice for Arizona. She said registering as an independent is “a reflection of who I’ve always been.” .She continued by saying Arizonans do what is right for their state and country. While her affiliation will change, she said she is going to be the same person she has always been. .Sinema said she is going to continue to deliver results for every day people.
