A Surrey man has been arrested, charged, and released after he attacked four people on a BC Transit bus in Abbotsford..The Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) responded to calls of an intoxicated, aggressive passenger aboard the bus westbound on Highway 1 at Whatcom Road on Sunday. While police were on their way, several individuals on the bus stepped in and restrained the man until officers arrived..Forty-five-year-old David Allen Lucas allegedly resisted arrest by police upon their arrival, requiring assistance from additional officers to quell the grown man’s violent temper tantrum..Four passengers were assaulted in total, all of whom received minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment..“If that was your boyfriend I’d snap his f—king finger off right now,” Lucas can be heard shouting at a woman, prior to him attacking passengers..The Surrey man has been charged with three counts of assault and one count of assault with a weapon, however, police did not say what weapon he used..“The AbbyPD and BC Transit personnel continue to work together to ensure that the transit system within the Abbotsford area remains safe for the public. Incidents like this are rare,” said Const.
