Two Ontario Conservative MPs defected from Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown's team to support Pierre Poilievre in the Conservative leadership race..Flamborough-Glanbrook MP Dan Muys and Dufferin-Caledon MP Kyle Seeback announced Tuesday they would be switching sides.."I believe there's one candidate, one my constituents support, who can unite conservatives & Canadians to become our next PM. That's @PierrePoilievre," Seeback said on Twitter.."Let's put the divisiveness away, unite our movement behind #Pierre4PM & defeat Justin Trudeau to win the next election.".Conservative MP John Williamson, who is also on Poilievre’s team, responded by welcoming Seeback aboard. "Pierre Poilievre's leadership campaign is a Big Tent movement that is working hard to grow its supporters and welcome them," he said on Twitter.."Winning in politics is about addition and multiplication.".The MPs defections dealt a large blow to Brown's leadership campaign. Only two sitting MPs now support Brown's candidacy: Calgary MP Michelle Rempel Garner and Barrie MP Doug Shipley..Poilievre has 56 sitting MPs supporting his leadership bid, while Jean Charest has been endorsed by 16 MPs..Chisholm Pothier, a spokesperson for the Brown campaign, said the Brampton mayor is "very confident" that he can still win the race.."We like where we're at, we like our numbers and there's a weird lack of confidence coming from the Poilievre camp with their over-the-top attacks," Pothier said.."An endorsement from anyone and two bucks gets you a cup of coffee and one vote. We just lost two votes. We'll make them up somewhere else."
