In a recent interview with the Western Standard, Kyle Kemper — half-brother to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — spoke highly of the Conservative Party of Canada's (CPC) new leader, Pierre Poilievre. .Kemper said he met Poilievre at a 2017 blockchain government forum the PM's half-brother hosted in Ottawa. ."He gave a talk about Switzerland and referendums and how blockchain technology could potentially one day be used for referendums in Canada and enabling more of a direct democracy," said Kemper. ."I really like that and he seems intelligent. I mean, he spoke for an hour and-a-half with Jordan Peterson in an open free-style debate. Justin, how about you do that to; let's see how it goes?" .Kemper said although Poilievre is a "career politician," he's hopeful the new CPC leader can bring change to the political system in Canada and create a more "well-functioning government." .He said he believes "technology has a role to play with creating strong structures."."We live in a digital age; that's the reality. These things are never going away," he said holding up his cell phone. .When asked if he would vote for Poilievre, Kemper said he likes him "more than others."."Right now, I appreciate him," said Kemper. .Kemper suggested he thought it would be a "benefit" for Poilievre to openly join the #TrudeauMustGo trend. He also said he believes people need to look at all options but "not put all their trust and hope" in any politician. ."I think it would be good to ask politicians, 'do you think the people have a voice or should have a voice in decision making?'" he said. ."It would be a good question to ask them because I know that they don't. A lot of them don't." .The Western Standard reached out to Poilievre's campaign team for comment, but it declined. .Kemper first spoke with the Western Standard in late January as the Freedom Convoy made its way to Ottawa..READ MORE: WATCH: Exclusive sit-down with Kyle Kemper, half brother and active critic of Justin Trudeau. In the January interview, Kemper openly criticized much of what Trudeau did throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, including what he called Trudeau's "divisive language" used to cancel unvaccinated Canadians. .That interview, as of Tuesday at 4:50 a.m., was pulled from YouTube and the Western Standard received a strike from the video platform citing "medical misinformation" as its reasoning..READ MORE: WATCH: STRIKE 2 — YouTube censors months-old WS interview with Trudeau's half brother. The timing of the YouTube strike oddly followed a Sunday evening request sent from the Western Standard to Kemper for a follow-up interview to discuss his decision to join the social media movement centered around the hashtag #JustinMustGo..The Western Standard caught up with Kemper Tuesday on In Focus with Melanie Risdon. .IN FOCUS: Trudeau's half-brother weighs in on YouTube pulling his interview with WS.In the interview, Kemper discussed his Twitter post over the weekend where he called out Trudeau and, in a direct message to his half-brother, said, "Your words and actions over the past two years have been deplorable and morally repugnant." ."I believe you are acting under duress and it's time for you to release yourself from the spells that bind you."
