A trio of Conservative candidates have been declared the winners of the Alberta Senate election..Erika Barootes, Pam Davidson and Mykhailo Martyniouk now have a six-year window where a sitting prime minister could send them to the Red Chamber..Davidson led with the most votes at 382,243,.Barootes came second with 358,002 and Mykhailo Martyniouk came third with 237,228..Independent Doug Horner garnered 179,455 votes, fellow Independent Karina Pillay received 144,168, Independent Duncan Kenney got 128,945..Ann McCormick led candidates from the People’s Party of Canada with 109,812 votes, fellow PPC candidate Kelly Lorencz with 107,176, PPC candidate Nadine Wellwood with 98,401, Independent Jeff Nielsen with 95,768, Independent Rick Bonnent with 93,277, Independent Sunil Sookram got 87,932 and trailing the pack was Independent Chad Jett Thunders with 75, 514..PPC leader Maxime Bernier said he was satisfied with the results..“Our three candidates got approximately 5% each, for a total of 15%, while the three Conservative candidates who won got 47% overall. The seven independent candidates shared the remaining 38% of votes.
