A BC Conservative MP says an Air Canada pilot who wore a Palestinian scarf while in uniform while bashing Israel should be fired.."It has come to my attention through social media that following the heinous murder of hundreds of innocent civilians this past weekend, Mostafa Ezzo, a First Officer working for Air Canada, participated in pro-Hamas rallies, carrying posters with unacceptable and antisemitic messages of hate," MP Mark Strahl (Chilliwack-Hope) wrote to Air Canada CEO Michael Rousseau.."In my role as Shadow Minister for Transport for the Official Opposition, I am writing you today to request that you immediately terminate this individual because of these anti-Semitic social media posts and activities, at least one of which features him wearing his Air Canada pilot's uniform. While I appreciate that he has been suspended I am calling on you to take the further step of terminating his employment.".Ezzo posted a picture of himself wearing his Air Canada uniform, complete with a Palestinian scarf and flag..Another posted picture showed a sign saying: "Israel, Adolph Hitler is proud of you.".There was also a picture advertising a big pro-Palestinian rally in Montreal on Monday that was labelled "F--- you Israel, burn in hell.".Finally there was a picture of a protester throwing an Israeli flag into a garbage can.."I am also calling on the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA) to terminate Ezzo's ALPA membership and to support any disciplinary actions Air Canada takes against him at this time," Strahl wrote.."I know that passenger safety is the number one concern for Air Canada and its flight crews. Passengers from all countries, faiths and backgrounds must be made to feel safe on anyflights that Air Canada operates. By targeting Israel and its citizens in such a repugnant manner, people of Jewish faith can no longer feel safe on any flights in which Mr. Ezzo is in the cockpit. He needs to be fired.
