On Tuesday night after two warnings issued by Environment Canada, a tornado touched down near Madison, SK..Meteorologist Brad Vrolijk said the tornado landed near Madison, which is a small town near Kindersley..“It was later in the day. We’ll be following up in the area today to see if we get more information as to if it actually impacted anything, if there’s any damage or anything like that,” said Vrolijk..“We don’t have any preliminary ratings for their strength or anything like that, but we definitely had one touch down at least yesterday with the thunderstorms that rolled through.”.One issue with trying to figure out how strong was the tornado is not having people around who witnessed it..“As far as reports go, we don’t have a lot because it’s pretty sparse out in that neck of the woods,” said Vrolijk..Vrolijk also said that it’s “likely the province isn’t done with severe weather for the week.”.His prediction is more severe storms will hit on Wednesday night..“We will likely see more thunderstorms tonight for areas along the international border. Almost a repeat of last night’s storms … we’re not expecting a tornado threat today, but we could see more thunderstorms with hail developing (in the) Shaunavon and Swift Current area,” said Vrolijk.
