Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) said social conservatives need to set their sights on defeating Bill 42, which will provide gender affirming healthcare in Ontario. .“It has the exact same wording, and it is directed to the same insidious purpose: Bill 42 will speed more gender-confused youth and adults into irreversible, mutilating sex-change treatments, paid for with more of our tax dollars,” said CLC Campaigns Manager David Cooke in a Monday blog post. .The blog post said Bill 42’s predecessor, Bill 17, was stopped when the Ontario Legislature was dissolved in May. It said Bill 17 has been revived because of four Ontario NDP MPPs. .Four Ontario NDP MPPs tabled Bill 42 to require the health minister establish a transgender healthcare advisory committee on November 16. .READ MORE: Ontario NDP MPPs introduce bill to improve access to gender affirming healthcare.The bill defines gender affirming healthcare as procedures, medical treatments, and referral processes aligning patients’ bodies and appearances with their gender identity. It said the health minister will be required to establish the advisory committee no more than 60 days after it passes. .Ontario NDP MPPs Lise Vaugeois, Terence Kernaghan, Jill Andrew, and Kristyn Wong-Tam tabled the bill. It remains on first reading vote. .Cooke said Bill 42 will “radically sexualize our Ontario healthcare system, prioritizing elective transgender procedures while hospital wait times skyrocket and essential surgeries continue to be delayed.”.The blog post said Ontario Premier Doug Ford and the provincial government appear to be on board with this proposal. He added it will “further enshrine the delusion of gender theory (i.e. ‘choose-your-own-gender’) into our laws and institutions and dismiss those who uphold God’s design for healthy human sexuality and gender.”.The blog post went on to say the social contagion of rapid onset gender dysphoria, which is a particular threat to young girls, will spread in Ontario. It said the bill will ensure mutilating surgeries, such as double masectomies in women and girls and penectomies in men and boys, are performed. .More sterilizing, puberty-blocking drugs will be given to youth. It will reject the wait and see approach and push doctors into referring gender dysphoric patients to practitioners who will affirm their gender identity. .Research shows more than 84% of gender dysphoric youth come to accept their biological sex upon entering adolescence or adulthood. It found transgender desistence is a normal, expected, and desired outcome, avoiding all the harms associated with sex change surgeries and artificial hormone therapies..The blog post continued by saying Bill 42 ignores science and dismisses the long-term effects of transgender healthcare. It said rejects traditional counselling, pastoral care, and body-affirming psychotherapy. .It asks people to reach out to their MPPs to urge them to say no to Bill 42. .“We must not allow the LGBT lobby to gain a bigger foothold in our public healthcare system,” said Cooke. .“It is vital that we work to protect vulnerable youth— especially young girls —who are prone to transgender influences through social media and peer pressure.”
