Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) and the Wilberforce Project said Alberta United Conservative Party members should vote to elect a leader with social conservative policies. .CLC Political Operations Director Jack Fonseca said he's happy the UCP is holding a leadership race, as Alberta Premier Jason Kenney needed to be replaced. .“We are not finished our candidate evaluation yet, so things could change, but we are leaning towards endorsing Todd Loewen,” said Fonseca in a Thursday email. .“He is known to be a pro-life Christian.” .While UCP leadership candidate Travis Toews identifies as pro-life, Fonseca said he is unimpressed with the politician referring to abortion as healthcare. He said since all other candidates are for abortion, they are unworthy of CLC’s support. .Toews said he is against abortion, but he would not reopen the debate if he becomes Alberta premier. .Fonseca went on to say he loves UCP leadership candidate Danielle Smith’s proposal to add COVID-19 vaccine status and political affiliation to the Alberta Human Rights Act (AHRA), as it will help social conservatives.
