Saskatchewan father Michael Jackson went into hiding with his seven-year-old daughter, Sarah, to keep his mom from giving her the COVID-19 vaccine. In this second of two articles in the Western Standard, the father explains what inspired his flight and how he believes many others must make sacrifices against encroaching tyranny..In early December, Jackson made his decision to leave the small town of Carievale in southeastern Saskatchewan. He said when he and his daughter did their morning prayers, God spoke back..“He told her and he told me that justice is coming. He told me that as clear as a bell and her just as a word in our heads… We’re literally praying and I said, ‘God, if you have a word for us, tell us.’ Sarah just turned to me and said, ‘Dad, he gave me Maccabees,’ and gave her a certain scripture.”.They turned to 1 Maccabees 2:28, which reads “Then he and his sons fled to the hills, leaving behind in the town everything that they possessed.” .The Scripture, found in Catholic Bibles refers to a time before Christ when a Greek king tried to impose pagan sacrifices on the Jews. Here, Mattathias Maccabeus committed an act of open rebellion against the state and called others to follow him into the desert..Jackson refused to say whether he was still in Saskatchewan, but did say he wasn’t with any of his known friends..“We’re in a comfortable situation with good people. But the fear is welling on them. And they’re getting very scared. They’re older people and I can understand that. So even though they knew the situation before we came because I’m completely honest, they’re starting to get nervous because it’s getting public,” he says..Jackson says he will soon leave for another place he has arranged for, provided its owners don’t also succumb to fear..“We’re having a difficult time finding help because, unfortunately, as you know it seems to be a country full of cowards,” Jackson says..“I’ve been in chat groups… And everybody was saying when they start to come for our children, that’s going to be the line in the sand. And we’re gonna raise our guns, and we’re gonna defend, and we’re gonna do this, and we’re gonna do that. But as it turns out, it was just a bunch of keyboard warriors, right? Because I reached out in those groups, and I said, ‘Listen, this is my situation, and I need help.’ And nobody, like, nooo-body (responded).”.“I’ve walked away from my house. I don’t know if they’re gonna take it. I have a tax situation that’s very volatile right now. I don’t know what’s going to happen. But I was willing to just walk away from everything, spend the rest of my life in prison if necessary to protect my child,” he said..Jackson has appealed his custody arrangement, and legally, he said he thinks only an award of full custody would keep his daughter from getting the vaccine. Even so, he believes forced vaccination is on the agenda for Canadians of all ages, consent or not..“Have you seen the federal minister of health saying all the provinces have the right and they should start looking at in the next couple of weeks at forced vaccination? So we know that’s coming, and they’re gonna hunt everyone down eventually,” Jackson said..“I’m sure you realize and everybody’s starting to realize there’s no such thing as a Charter of Rights. It’s just a document. It doesn’t mean anything.”.Jackson said he believes a change of government is necessary and he wants it to be peaceful. But he says that won’t happen unless many people are willing to risk everything as he has..“I’m hoping that people stand up. And so I don’t care if the cops put a warrant out. I don’t care if my face is all over the news. I don’t care if I spend the rest of my life in prison if they catch me. It’s totally irrelevant. I know that may be hard to grasp,” Jackson said..“I’m hoping when people see this … they’re going to see what’s coming down the barrel pointed right at them, and realize if they don’t stand up and help us and help themselves, they’re all going to be in this position in the very near future.”.Lee Harding is a freelance contributor living in Regina, Saskatchewan.
