There's been a COVID-19 outbreak on the Saskatchewan Roughriders team..In a media release, the Roughriders said it's dealing with team members and support staff who tested positive for COVID-19..“As the team travelled together across the country, all players, coaches, and staff will undergo mandatory testing for the next several days,” said the Roughriders’ press release..The Roughriders played the Toronto Argonauts in Saturday's Touchdown Atlantic game in Halifax. The Roughriders released no names of those infected..Tuesday’s practice was cancelled because of the positive tests. The team is working with the CFL Medical Committee and abiding by the CFL's COVID-19 rules..“The club is working with the CFL Medical Committee and following all COVID-19 policies and procedures set by the CFL,” said the Roughriders..The team travelled across the country together and all players and staff are being tested..Wednesday’s practice is expected to happen as scheduled because of the CFL testing protocols being completed..The Argonauts are at Mosaic Stadium this Saturday at 5 pm for a rematch of last week’s game where the Roughriders lost 30-24 after Fajardo threw a pick six in the fourth quarter giving the Argonauts the lead..The CFL’s 2020 season was cancelled and the CFL shortened the 2021 season because of COVID-19.
