The man called Freeland a "traitor" and a "f*cking b*tch" and warned her to leave the province..The news of the RCMP's investigation comes as Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino claimed the federal government will "explore" increasing security or hiring bodyguards for politicians and ministers.."The situation regarding security on the landscape is becoming more and more complex," Mendicino said at a press conference on Monday.."We're seeing more incidents, particularly involving women, involving racialized Canadians, involving indigenous peoples. I don't believe that is a coincidence.".Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called the incident "extremely disturbing" and said episodes of harassment and threats against women, people of colour and members of other minority groups, are becoming more frequent..NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh said the growing number of incidents targeting female journalists and politicians are alarming.."I want my daughter, and all women, to know they belong everywhere.
