Police in BC investigating a case of stolen property recovered an unusual item – a pilfered home..RCMP said the case began December 28 when the Boston Bar detachment received a call about a B&E into an area property, where an entire mini-home was stolen..The house – measuring 2.4 metres by 5 metres – was ripped off from a home along the Trans-Canada Hwy..The tiny home stolen with cedar siding and solar panels was mounted on a flat deck trailer.. Mossleigh pub briefly opens before authorities move in .“Boston Bar RCMP shared the description of the stolen tiny home with its neighbouring policing jurisdictions in an effort to track it down. Despite extensive patrols police were unable to locate the stolen tiny home or a suspect,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey in a statement..“On December 31, RCMP received information a suspect had allegedly attempted to sell them a tiny home, matching the description of the one taken. Front line RCMP officers responded to the property of the seller situated in the Lillooet area, where they located the tiny home..“A man associated to the property was taken into police custody, questioned and later released pending further investigation.”.Officers returned to the same property on January 3, this time armed with a search warrant..“As a result of its search, Lillooet RCMP seized additional property allegedly taken from the Boston Bar seasonal property back in December. Police officers also recovered a generator reported as stolen in August from Coldstream BC in the North Okanagan,” said O’Donaghey..Police estimated the total value of the stolen property recovered to be upwards of $80,000. Their investigation continues..A 48-year-old Lillooet man now faces numerous potential charges.
