It was a bad trip for three Manitoba elementary school students after Mounties say the trio accidently ingested pot during their morning bus ride, sending them to hospital..Souris RCMP are investigating after three students fell ill after ingesting cannabis while on their way to an elementary school in Shilo, MB, located about 35-km east of Brandon, MB, on Wednesday. ."At this point, we believe a child brought the edibles onto the bus and shared them with the other children thinking it was candy," said Manitoba RCMP Cpl. Julie Courchaine in a Friday press release. ."We continue to investigate and are working with the school and the parents who were affected.".The release said officers attended the scene and were informed three students, between the ages of five and nine years old, had become ill during the day. It said one child had to be transported to hospital by ambulance. .The release went on to say the other two children were transported to hospital by their parents. It added all of the students were treated and released..The RCMP determined the children had inadvertently ingested cannabis gummies on the school bus that morning..Police are reminding people to store all cannabis products in a locked box or container, separate them from regular food and drinks, ensure these products are labelled, and be careful with edible cannabis, as they can be mistaken for regular food, drinks, and candy.
