The incident has been dubbed “Pee-Gate” by What’s on Weibo, which is China’s version of YouTube. The beer company is one of China’s biggest breweries. Video footage of the man began circulating on Weibo Thursday garnering tens of millions of views, according to South China Morning Post. It shows the factory employee climbing into a vat of raw ingredients and letting loose a stream of urination onto the contents. Tsingtao Brewery announced Friday it called the police, who are now undergoing an investigation. “Our company attaches high importance to the relevant video that emerged from Tsingtao Brewery No. 3 on October 19,” the statement reads. “We reported the incident to the police at the earliest opportunity, and public security organs are involved in the investigation.“At present, the batch of malt in question has been completely sealed,” it continued. “The company continues to strengthen its management procedures and ensure product quality.”
