Ontario man Edward Lake, whose three children were killed by a drunk driver in a car crash in 2015 in Vaughan, Ontario, has died by suicide. .Lake was found deceased on Monday, as reported by Global News. .Lake’s wife Jennifer Neville-Lake shared a photo on social media showing their children’s grave on Sunday. .“This shouldn’t be real,” said Neville-Lake. “It can’t be.”.The couple’s three children were killed in a crash in 2015 caused by drunk driver Marco Muzzo. .Nine year-old Daniel Neville-Lake, five year-old Harrison, two year-old Milly, and their 65 year-old grandfather Gary Neville died in the collision. The children’s grandmother and great grandmother sustained serious injuries. .Muzzo was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 after pleading guilty to four counts of impaired driving causing death and two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm. .Lake said in a statement at Muzzo’s sentencing hearing he had suffered suicidal thoughts and anxiety since the crash. .Muzzo was granted full parole in 2021 despite devastating impact statements from the Neville-Lake family. .Edward and Jennifer said the parole board should not grant Muzzo parole, claiming he had not taken responsibility or shown remorse for his actions. .Edward and Jennifer urged the board if it was to grant him parole, he should be required to live in a different province. .“The thought of him being out on the street frightens me greatly,” she said. .“I get panicked and anxious thinking about him.” .Part of his parole conditions include avoiding Edward and Jennifer and not residing in York Region where the crash happened, or Brampton, Ontario, where they live. .York Regional Police Chief Jim MacSween said he is keeping Neville-Lake in his thoughts and prayers. .“This evening I was very saddened to learn of the tragic death of Ed Lake,” said MacSween. .“The losses to the Neville-Lake family are heart wrenching.”
