Mass killer Gabriel Wortman didn’t have the proper paperwork to buy guns legally in Canada – and now RCMP are trying to figure out where he got his weapons..RCMP haven’t said what kind of weapons were used Saturday night and Sunday morning where Wortman shot to death 22 people..A Western Standard source said Wortman was able to take Const. Heidi Stevenson’s gun and ammunition after he killed her during the rampage..Chief Supt. Chris Leather said Wortman “didn’t have a Firearms Acquisition Certificate” to be able to purchase firearms legally in Canada..The FAC was the forerunner of the current PAL system (Possession and Acquisition Licence)..But that, in theory, should end any argument about new gun control legislation would have halted the massacre..Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Safety Minister Bill Blair this week vowed to follow through on new gun laws despite the fact they didn’t know what type of weapons Wortman used..Along with whatever guns Wortman had illegally acquired, he was also wearing an authentic RCMP uniform and had an exact replica RCMP car, complete with light bar..In another development, the Globe and Mail reported RCMP found a hit list inside Wortman’s home..And the Nova Scotia police watchdog is investigating why officers shot up a local fire hall during the manhunt. The house was then set on fire by Wortman..Wortman then took to area roads in his fake police car..He was able to use the fake car to pull people over, whom he then shot to death, said the source..Stevenson responded to the call and ended up ramming Wortman’s fake police car. Stevenson was then shot and killed with Wortman stealing her gun and ammo. At that point Wortman set his fake car and Stevenson’s real car on fire..Wearing a fake police uniform he was able to get additional transportation away from the area..Wortman pulled into a gas station in Enfield to fill up. He pulled in behind an unmarked RCMP vehicle carrying a police dog handler and Tac-Team officer..The source said the officers recognized the suspect and ordered him to surrender..He reached across the seat and was shot by the officers, said the source..Wortman knew some of his victims while others were random.. AFL launches website for people to boycott businesses that donated to UCP .Leather said Wortman’s ability to travel over 100 km was aided by the fake police car and his uniform..Another officer was shot during the spree.
