The Ontario New Blue Party has criticized the provincial government for funding an all ages drag show in Kitchener, ON. .“When you hear the words ‘drag night,’ do you think of a family friendly production?” said former Ontario New Blue MPP Belinda Karahalios in a Tuesday email. .“I don’t.” .The event, called Jingle Bell Rock, was held at Bingemans on Thursday. It saw drag queens Miss Drew and Crew perform in front of children. .Karahalios said it is ridiculous taxpayer dollars are being spent on a drag show. She called the show being for children “outrageous.” .The email said Ontario Progressive Conservative members who were supportive of the event attacked Karahalios for saying how far left the party is. One former Ontario PC staffer attacked her on social media for exposing the event. .Karahalios went on to say New Blue was founded “to expose the left-wing and corrupt policies the PCs share with the Liberals and NDP.” She added people might be wondering why they have not heard about the Ontario government funding an all ages drag event from any other politician, independent news outlet, or advocacy group. .The email said no other political party, advocacy group, or political figure is willing to talk about it.
