Mount Royal University sent out announcements Tuesday afternoon which includes a new voluntary rapid testing option available for vaccinated students and staff..“These tests for those without symptoms are not an alternative to MRU’s vaccination requirements, but an additional layer of protection for our on-campus community,” said the announcement..A policy banning unvaccinated students from the university’s campus came into effect on Jan. 1, 2022..Those who did not disclose full vaccination status to MRU in the fall 2021 semester could participate in a rapid testing program, where they submit test results twice a week..The health measures on campus are:.Students, faculty, staff and visitors aged 12 years and older are to be fully vaccinated.Students, faculty and staff have to use their campus cards to access the library and Learning Centre.Food is not permitted in the library and Learning Centre, except in the cafe. Drinks are allowed, but must be covered with a lid at all times.
