The Maverick Party is calling on its members to contribute more money to ensure it can continue to operate. .“We should all remember the Maverick Party operates solely on donations as does any political party,” said the guiding council in a Friday email to members. .“The fact is we are not raising enough money to keep the Maverick Party operating.” .The email said Maverick’s current income does not allow it to pay the leader, pay for an accountant and auditor, cover travel, maintain a database, hold events, and pay for social media campaigns. If the party cannot fund day-to-day operations with monthly donations, it said it will “be forced to scale back our operations.”.It went on to say Maverick needs $20,000 per month to operate. The party has 4,000 members. .The email went on to say a monthly donation from the majority of its members would fill this need.
