Police manhunt is still going for mass killer Robert Card, the shooter in the Lewiston, Maine massacre. The police executed search warrants where he might have been hiding on Thursday night. Many police officers are searching for Robert Card in central Maine. Card is believed to be involved in two shootings on Wednesday night. In these two incidents, 18 people were killed and 13 injured at a bowling alley and restaurant. On Thursday, the police focused on the home of his brother and sister-in-law. The police searched the house after a lengthy standoff outside. It is still being determined if Card was ever at that house.Out of the 13 injured victims, eight are still in the hospital. Five are in stable condition, but three are still in critical condition as of Thursday evening, according to the hospital. The city of Lewiston, which is the second biggest city in the state, is still under lockdown while the manhunt continues. Most school districts in the area have decided to stay closed on Friday and few residents are leaving their homes.Senator Angus King (I-Maine) described Wednesday as “one of the darkest days.” “And here’s why it’s so shocking. I think because Maine has one of the highest rates of gun ownership in the nation. And the figure I saw this morning was we had the second lowest gun crime rate as of the day before yesterday,” said King.“That’s what’s making this so difficult is to grasp the concept of, frankly, something we didn’t think was going to be part of something we had to deal with again because of the deep and long history of safe gun use in the state.”
