Not only are the PPC heavily censored, the school board teaches that they’re RACIST.”.The audio has a teacher recapping what sounds like a project and dividing the class into project groups when one student interrupts asking if she can partner with another student and do their project on the PPC..The teacher replies, “I’m not going to do PPC…”.The student again interrupts and reminds the teacher she said they would have the right to vote what they believe “and now you’re not letting us.”.The teacher responds with, “They (the PPC) do have overtly racist policies,” followed by, “I can’t do them in our class.”.It then sounds like the student recording the exchange asks to leave class and call her father to which the teacher is heard saying “sure.”.School district officials say the teacher’s comments are being investigated..“This is a personnel matter and we are reviewing the situation using the guidance of our policies,” said school district Manager of Communications and Community Engagement Shawn McKillop..Local Hamilton mountain PPC candidate, Chelsey Taylor blasted the school..“Unfortunately, we have seen this kind unbacked partisanship from every level of municipal government during the course of this election. When we have council members and teachers act this way, while drawing a salary on the public purse, it’s clear that it’s time to show some integrity and class for a change. We expect that Sherwood Secondary and the entire HWDSB take this opportunity to reflect on just how sad these dangerous words and actions are in a world that is desperate for truth and enlightenment. This teacher should be removed from her job for spewing such hatred on our vulnerable children.
