Blueprint for Canada has been advocating for people to elect conservative school board trustee candidates in British Columbia and Ontario. .“It was put together over the last two months by a group of parents, educators, and other citizens, mainly in Ontario,” said Blueprint for Canada founder Peter Wallace in a Tuesday interview. .“We have serious concerns regarding the current state of the provincial public education systems across Canada and the influence of divisive ideology manifesting itself in the curriculum.”.Wallace said Blueprint for Canada’s goal is to present “a platform of alternative ideas on how to improve public education based on centrist classical liberal values we hope will resonate with most Canadians.” The advocacy group aims to raise awareness about how social justice infiltrated school boards. .While Blue Print for Canada is independent of individual campaigns, a number of candidates have expressed interest in enacting policies it has proposed. .This advocacy group said it will support sex-based rights for students because gender ideology is undermining female sports. It added gender ideology has allowed biological males to enter female washrooms, change rooms, and showers. .Wallace said this advocacy group wants to elect trustees who support expanding education in personal finance, computer skills, and sciences. He said the skills are deemed to be “those most likely to lead Canadian students to long-term career success while providing them with the most flexibility to determine their own career path.” .The founder went on to say police officers have to return to schools to create a disciplined environment. He added kids benefit from structure, and a child’s identity should not influence how his or her misbehaviours are handled. .Wallace said it's important people support the organization to combat extreme political ideology in schools. .“Our goal is to influence policy decisions regarding public education in all provinces and territories,” he said. .Suspended conservative Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) trustee Mike Ramsay said he will be seeking reelection on August 10. .READ MORE: Cancelled conservative Ontario school board trustee announces re-election bid.“I have made the improvement of the public education system in this community a major focus of my professional and personal life, and I hope to earn the confidence of the community,” said Ramsay. .Ramsay, who is black, was censured and sanctioned by six white trustees for not supporting progressive causes.
