Alberta RCMP and the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) have recovered two stolen Ferraris and laid charges. .EPS officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Jasper Ave. and 115 St. for a traffic violation and seized a vehicle on September 12, according to a Thursday press release. At the same time, the Alberta RCMP said its Auto Theft North Unit entered into an investigation into two fraudulently registered Ferraris. .As a result of that investigation, the RCMP determined the vehicle EPS towed was one of the Ferraris being investigated. It learned the Ferrari had been reported stolen out of Ontario months earlier and given a new, fraudulent vehicle identification number and re-registered in Alberta. .Its Auto Theft North Unit with assistance from Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams and Beaumont RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the Royal Oaks Subdivision of Leduc County on September 15. As a result of the search, it seized another Ferrari stolen from Ontario earlier this year. .This vehicle had a new, fraudulent vehicle identification number and was re-registered in Alberta. .RCMP said the combined value of the two vehicles — a 2017 Ferrari 488 and a 2023 Ferrari F8 Tributo — is almost $1 million. .Edmonton resident Sheldon Gaspard Poirier, 31, has been charged with four counts of possession of property obtained by crime, illegal possession of government documents, possession of a weapon contrary to order, failure to comply with release conditions, and fraudulent concealment. .Edmonton resident Vicky Mander, 35, has been charged with two counts of fraudulent concealment and two counts of uttering a forged document. .Poirier and Mander have been arrested and taken before a justice of the peace.
