The Freedom Convoy's lawyer claimed yesterday the masked man seen holding a Nazi flag at the trucker protest was a publicist with Enterprise Canada and former Toronto Star employee..The accusation came while lawyer Brendan Miller was cross-examining David Vigneault, director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), during the Public Order Emergency Commission..“I take it then, sir, that you know that individual was Brian Fox from Enterprise group?” Miller asked.."I have not testified to that, counsel," Vigneault responded. "You haven't testified to it, but you know it to be true, don't you?" Miller said..Fox is a currently a publicist with Enterprise Canada, a Toronto marketing company. He has been an employee at the company for over 20 years..According to Enterprise's website, Fox "gets how powerful combined actions, words and images are to build and protect reputations, motivate audiences to act, and get through crises.".Enterprise Canada called Miller's allegations "absurd and despicable," and said they will be "exploring all legal options" in response to the "unsubstantiated attack.".They claimed Fox was in Toronto throughout the entire Freedom Convoy and nobody from Enterprise Canada was in attendance at the protest "in any capacity.".Late Monday night, Miller provided the National Post with more evidence that Fox was the Nazi flag-waver. He showed a document that compared photographs of Fox with photos taken at the protest of the Nazi flag-waver's face. .The document also claims that a Toronto Star op-ed that criticized the protestors, written by Enterprise senior counsel Supriya Dwivedi on Jan. 30, was the first instance of a specific photo from the protest of Confederate flag with an image of a truck on it. However, that photo was taken for the newswire service Getty Images and is available for use to any subscribers..The man carrying a Nazi flag was photographed on Jan. 29 among 15,000 Freedom Convoy protestors in downtown Ottawa. The masked man was never identified, and the convoy's organizers disavowed any connection to him..After the incident, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suggested the protesters were swastika wavers. “Conservative Party members can stand with people who wave swastikas,” Trudeau said in the House of Commons on Feb. 16..The incident also prompted Liberal and New Democrat MPs to convene an April 27 hearing of the House of Commons heritage committee to discuss a ban on swastika flags. “This cannot continue. We have these appalling symbols that are openly displayed even on Parliament Hill," said New Democrat MP Peter Julian (New Westminster-Burnaby, B.C.). .In an internal report, CSIS said a small number of flags "both purchased and self-created reflected racist and bigoted world views.".“The presence of these flags, however, is not unique to this event and are often seen at anti-lockdown events across the country.”.Miller told the Western Standard that throughout the week, he will be presenting more evidence that Fox is the Nazi flag carrier. The prime minister is expected to testify in front of the commission on Friday.
