Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said his administration plans to hold COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers accountable for making false claims about their mRNA products, which he claimed have caused injuries..During a private event over the weekend, DeSantis said he would be working with the Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo to “hold these manufacturers accountable,” in reference to COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers. He praised Ladapo for "fighting back against the narrative and the phony things people are trying to do."."We're going to hold these manufacturers accountable for this mRNA [shot], because they said there were no side effects and we know that there have been a lot," he said..“We did a study in Florida and we saw an 86% increase in cardiac related activity in people ages 18 to 39 from mRNA shots, and so we’re going to be doing some stuff to bring accountability there,” the governor said..The study, conducted by the Florida Department of Health through a self-controlled case series, led them to recommend against COVID-19 vaccination for Floridians aged 18 to 39..Last week, Ladapo also said vaccines for COVID-19 are “far less safe” than other vaccines, based on an autopsy-based clinical research in a cardiology study. .DeSantis added that his government would be making an announcement on vaccines within the next three to four weeks..In 2021, DeSantis signed legislation that protected Floridians from losing their jobs due to COVID-19 vaccine mandates, as well as protecting parents' rights to make healthcare decisions for students.."We wouldn't let them mandates on you in Florida," DeSantis told the crowd, adding that corporations like Disney wanted to fire people for their vaccination status. ."We said no across the board, so everybody had the ability to opt-out of anything they were trying to impose on you. But there are other people around the country that got forced to take this, and then what? They’re not allowed to sue or get any type of recourse," DeSantis said.."So this is something that we’re gonna lead on in Florida. We’re gonna have probably some announcements over the next three or four weeks on that,” DeSantis said..Health authorities in both Canada and the US have said COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective in safeguarding people from the virus.
