The pumpkin barn, where you buy pumpkins, the floor is about half-covered. The welcome centre has got about four inches of water in it,” said Masse..“This is about where we want it to stop. It’s taken a ton of energy to get everything empty and, quote-unquote, ready for the flood.”.Hwy. 75, the main highway between Manitoba and North Dakota, is closed as dikes are built around it..Hwy. 75 is not currently flooded. but the water only has a few feet left until it could flood, even with the recent raising of the highway. It is still in danger of flooding..The city of Winnipeg expects the Red River to peak sometime between May 11 and May 14, 2022..There are 27 private properties at risk of flooding with 17 of them building dikes around their homes that need to be finished by Friday when the water level will begin to peak..The city advised the 10 other homeowners to be ready to build a dike around their properties..The city said it needs about 29,000 sandbags to properly build the dikes to protect the city..The flooding extends into North Dakota where, in Grand Forks, the Red River sits at 45-feet with the flood stage at 28 feet.
