The Freedom Conservative Party of Alberta (FCP) on Friday announced a 5-point plan to try and unite-the-further-right..The plan would “unite all independence/ non-federalist right leaning parties and movements into one strong, united political alternative in Alberta,” said the party in a release..The party suggests the first move would be to form a committee and then negotiate a unity agreement with other like-minded parties..That would be followed by a founding convention where members would vote to elect a board, constitution and policies..A leadership race would then be held followed by organizing in the 87 provincial riding for the 2023 election..“This ambitious plan will unite the independence-Alberta first movement into one unified and strong force to be a principled and effective opposition,” the release said..“The new party will guarantee a referendum on confederation and demand that the provincial government take steps to push Ottawa for a true equal and tangible relationship..“Albertans are upset. It is time to take a stand and build a strong non-federalist alternative to this government. It is time to come together and build a strong home grown Alberta opposition to the Ottawa elite.”.In the 2019 election, the party ran candidates in 24 ridings, electing no one..dnaylor@westernstandardonline.com.Twitter: Nobby7694
