The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) continues to investigate 22 reported shootings in August. .Eighteen of the shootings are believed to be targeted offences and not random in nature, according to a Thursday press release. EPS said 10 of the shootings resulted in injuries and 19 of them had potential for bystanders to be harmed. .There were three deaths, with one of them being self-inflicted. .EPS went on to say nine incidents involved shots being fired at a person, four were fired at residences, another four into the air, two at vehicles, two were accidentally discharged and one was self-inflicted. .Compared to one year ago, August shootings are up by 36%.
