The City of Edmonton announced its famous High Level Bridge will boast the colours of the Palestinian flag to support Gaza this week.

The Israel-Palestine conflict has divided Canadians since Islamic terrorist group Hamas attacked Israel on October 7.

“From Oct. 19 to 20, the High Level Bridge will be lit in red, white, black and green to acknowledge the humanitarian crisis and all people struggling as a result of the violence and conflict in Gaza,” the City of Edmonton wrote on Twitter (“X”).

The bridge is one of the city’s key landmarks, and accepts requests to light the bridge in certain colours based on any given cause.

However, the city “reserves the right to deny requests that do not merit public support or are mainly personal, private, political, polarizing or commercial in nature.”

Last week Edmonton lit up the bridge in blue and white to support Israel.

“From October 10-14, the High Level Bridge will be lit in blue and white in honour of the lives lost following the attack by Hamas. We stand with Israel and all its citizens,” the city wrote.
