A gay bar in Dallas, Texas, Mr. Misster, hosted a drag queen celebration for children Saturday as parents looked on..In a Tweet posted by Andy Espresso, children as young as seven can be seen passing cash to the performer as they walked forward along the audience line, several of whom at the front were younger children..The drag performer is seen taking the money from a child..The performance was part of the controversial “Drag Your Kid To Pride” event in the city..The stage backdrop was a bright pink neon sign that said, "It’s Not Gonna Lick Itself!".Videos shared by people who attended the event depict a drag queen inviting children to share the stage with the performer.."If you think you can do it like we do, I want you to come up real quick," the drag queen said. Children were told if they "want to be a diva" to pick a drag queen to partner with..The event is described on the bar's social media platform as "a family-friendly spin-off of our famed Champagne Drag Brunch.".On Sunday, a YouTube channel called Fleccas Talks shared a video featuring interviews with drag queens at the controversial event..The interviews were hosted by Aldo Buttazzoni, an independent journalist who was given permission to sit in on the event, the description noted.."This was a great collab with our friend Aldo. He was able to sit in on the DRAG YOUR KID [to] PRIDE event at Mr. Misster's in Dallas and was even able to interview some of the drag queens and attendees afterward. This was a drag queen show for children at an adult bar," the video intro says..Alex Stein, a US conservative comedy performer, stood outside the bar calling out organizers for allowing minors into a 21-and-up bar..The comedian requested access, but was denied entry into the bar. He was allegedly assaulted multiple times as he attempted to gain entry to cover the show.."I thought you guys were inclusive," Stein said to the door security.."You guys are bigots! You won't let me in here, but you're gonna let children," he said, before he was forcibly removed from the property..When asked by Butazzoni how the organizers felt the event was received, Arielle Diamond, one of the drag performers, told him she thought “it was amazing. I never get to perform in front of children,” noting that it was very emotional and one of the best shows they’ve ever done..Buttazzoni asked attendees and the drag queens whether they felt exposing children to drag would encourage them to get into the genre..“Before I started doing drag, I was just a little gay boy running these streets,” one of the performers, Noelle Sinclair, told Buttazzoni, “but now I feel like a fully realized, confident person because of drag.”.When asked what the benefit is of exposing children to drag, Diamond told Buttazzoni that, “This stuff isn’t taught in school. You’re not allowed to see all this.”.Many people on social media are horrified by the weekend's events.."Reading lesson of the day for those children up in neon: 'It's not gonna lick itself!' How can anyone say this is not grooming!?" tweeted craftingwithbits..Dark6Light said, "We are witnessing a fall of a civilization.".Butazzoni asked a man wearing a gay pride Beto O’Rourke shirt, “Do you think drag is something that should be pushed into the mainstream?”.“It already is, whether people know it, or not. A lot of the sayings they use, and stuff, came straight from ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race,’ and so they’re taking it over, like ‘shade’ and ‘tea,’ and all that is a big part of what’s already in the straight community and they just are embracing it even though they don’t understand where it came from,” the man responded..Parents were also confronted outside the drag show as they lined up to take their children into the performance.
