Canada Strong and Free Network (CSFN) president Jamil Jivani said he's excited for the regional conference being held September 24 at the Cambridge Hotel and Conference Centre in Red Deer, AB. .“I think this is the beginning of hopefully a long-term generational shift where we’re seeing more young people be favourable towards more conservative policies and polls,” said Jivani in an interview. .“I think this is part of a bigger change happening across the country, and I’m pretty pumped about that.” .Jivani said his opening remarks at the CSFN Regional Conference will consist of him speaking about how the conservative movement needs to engage more with young people. He said young conservatives have to be involved with decision making, the issues politicians focus on, and campaign strategy. .He went on to say his opening remarks will include talking about where the conservative movement is now. With Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre coming into the leadership role, he said “it is time for the movement to think about how do you get ready for an election.” .Jivani praised Poilievre, saying he “speaks to a lot of different members of our coalition.”.While conservatives can continue to complain about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his failings, he said his opening remarks will challenge people to think about building a better future. .Jivani's speech will be followed by a keynote address. .About 250 people are expected to attend. CSFN chose the location because it's an equal distance from Edmonton and Calgary. .There will be a panel discussion about the relationship between media and the conservative movement. The panelists will be Western Standard publisher Derek Fildebrandt, Hub editor-at-large Sean Speer, and True North Alberta correspondent Rachel Emmanuel. .Jivani said conservatives need to gather at conferences such as this one to show the movement’s strength. .“I think it’s important for us to create spaces where we can show people that you’re not alone, there’s actually tons of people who are conservatives across this country,” he said. .The CSFN Regional Conference will include Alberta Premier Jason Kenney doing an interview with Speer.
