The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) have charged Calgary police Const. Gurluv Singh with sexual assault. .ASIRT was directed to investigate an allegation of sexual assault by Singh in 2021, according to a Tuesday press release. .The release said the investigation showed Singh had been at a licensed establishment in Calgary. While at the establishment, it said he allegedly touched a staff member in a sexual manner without her consent. .The evidence gathered during ASIRT’s investigation determined there were reasonable grounds to believe an offence had been committed. This report was forwarded to the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service (ACPS) to decide whether the evidence met the threshold for prosecution. .ASIRT Executive Director Michael Ewenson determined Singh should be charged following a review of the investigation and advice from the ACPS.
