A Calgary man was arrested and charged with attempted murder in Moose Jaw, which led the Moose Jaw Police (MJP) to issue a dangerous person’s emergency alert on Friday night..The alert happened after the MJP confirmed firearms were in a home on the 800 block of Fourth Avenue NW in Moose Jaw..The MJP obtained a search warrant and officers went to the area..Before the tactical units from Regina and Moose Jaw arrived, the suspect left the house and fired a handgun at the MJP..The suspect ran from the MJP and no officers were injured in the shooting..Around 9:50 p.m., the MJP said shots were reported on the 300 block of Ross Street in Moose Jaw..Police found the alleged shooter in a backyard, making the arrest with the assistance of crisis negotiators just past 10:30 p.m..The 32-year-old Calgary man is charged with attempted murder and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, among other charges..The suspect was unlawfully at large out of Calgary and wanted on a Canada-wide warrant..On Monday, the suspect will be in Moose Jaw provincial court..Charges are pending for four other people arrested in connection with the incident, according to the MJP..There is no further risk to the public.
