The Falun Gong faith, as well as the minority Uyghurs, are currently under attack by the Chinese Communist Party – with members of Falun Dafa in Calgary protesting the persecution they face..The Falun Dafa Association of Canada this week held its annual protest against the Chinese Communist Party’s imprisonment of Falun Gong practitioners..July 20 marks 22 years since the persecution of the Falun Gong spiritual practice began in China..Under the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), practitioners of this faith are targeted, imprisoned, and attacked by the government in a “nation-wide campaign to eliminate Falun Gong,” said the organizers of the protest, the Falun Dafa Association of Canada..The association is an organization promoting and specializing in the practice of Falun Gong, a spiritual practice rooted in Buddhist tradition encouraging “self-improvement through the study of teachings, and gentle exercise and meditation.”.The ideology represented by Falun Gong conflicts with the authority and ideology of control put out by the CCP..According to the Falun group, hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong detainees are currently being held and killed for their “vital organs” by the state-run campaign led by the CCP..Beijing and the CCP have consistently denied accusations of mistreatment of Falun Gong devotees, especially accusations of organ harvesting, but evidence uncovered by an independent panel in 2020 determined they were lying..Called the China Tribunal, it was set up by the International Coalition to End Transplant Abuse in China. The panel came to the conclusion they were “satisfied” the practice of harvesting the organs of Falun Gong prisoners is still taking place..China banned the practicing of Falun Gong in 1999 after 10,000 members appeared at the central leadership compound in Beijing to protest silently.
