Police have arrested and charged two suspects following the assault, robbery, and forcible confinement of two women in Delta, BC..Officers with the Delta Police Department were called to Highway 17 and Ladner Trunk Road before noon on Wednesday following reports of a distraught person..Upon arrival, officers learned a 21-year-old woman had allegedly been assaulted, robbed of her money, and forcibly confined in a U-Haul van before escaping..Officers were informed another woman remained held in the fleeing vehicle against her will..Delta police notified law enforcement agencies in the surrounding jurisdictions which resulted in Langley RCMP officers locating the van and arresting two suspects..The unnamed suspects remain in custody and a report recommending several charges has been submitted to Crown Counsel..The investigation is ongoing and police have not released any further information on the suspects or their motive for confining the two women..“The Delta Police Department wishes to thank our partners from the Langley RCMP, the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team, and Air 1, for their assistance in locating the second victim and arresting the suspects in this investigation,” said Delta police.
