Metro Vancouver Transit Police are still trying to identify a suspect who allegedly punched a woman multiple times in an unprovoked attack on a Vancouver bus last month, and have now released video..The assault occurred around 7:30 p.m. June 20, when a woman was seated on a bus driving north on Main Street..Police say a man unknown to the woman got on the bus at Marine Drive, sitting a few seats away from her. Shortly after the bus began moving the man “aggressively approached” the woman. Standing inches from her face, police say he shook his fist in the air and threatened to strike her..The woman walked to the front of the bus and notified the driver of her situation. While doing so, the man can be seen pacing back and forth..Once the driver brought the bus to a stop, police say the suspect approached the victim and punched her in the head and face multiple times without provocation. The repeated strikes caused her to fall to the ground..Described as a 30-50-year-old black male, the man was last seen exiting the bus at Main Street and 64 Avenue. He was wearing a light-brown pullover, dark coloured pants, and black runners..“Fortunately the victim did not sustain any serious physical injuries in this shocking, unprovoked attack,” said Const. Amanda Steed..“Everyone has the right to arrive at their transit destination safely, and without the fear of harassment or assault.
