Two have been arrested and another two remain at large following a crime spree that began with an armed robbery in Port Coquitlam, leading to a shootout with officers..Coquitlam RCMP responded to a car dealership near Lougheed Highway and Dominion Avenue shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday following reports of an armed robbery involving four suspects..Mounties say the suspects were observed stealing a vehicle from the dealership and while attempting to flee in the vehicle, exchanged gunfire with responding officers..Neither the officers or suspects were shot, said police, adding it's “unknown at this time” if the two outstanding suspects sustained injuries..Following the exchange of bullets, the stolen vehicle’s occupants continued their getaway before finally crashing on Highway 1 near the King Edward overpass. The four suspects fled on foot and one was apprehended by responding officers..Another suspect car jacked a nearby vehicle, fleeing to Surrey, however he too was arrested shortly after..Police continue searching for the two outstanding suspects and Coquitlam RCMP’s Major Crimes Team has taken over the investigation..“We would like to thank our policing partners in Burnaby, Surrey, New Westminster, Vancouver, Maple Ridge, and the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team for their assistance,” said Coquitlam RCMP’s Corporal Alexa Hodgins..“We appreciate and thank the public for their assistance in adhering to police directions. More than a dozen staff and patrons were present for that robbery, one of whom sustained "minor injuries," according to Vancouver police.
