No weapons were involved..With the help of RCMP’s emergency response team both on land and in a helicopter, Saanich police are searching for two “suspicious” men in the area of Mount Tolmie Thursday evening..As described by a witness, the two men were seen wearing “army-type outfits” and possibly carrying a long gun..One man is described as in his 30s with a white beard, full camouflage with a dark backpack and beige case slung over his shoulder..The other looks to be in his 20s with a navy black camouflage top, dark hair, and dark-coloured skin, police said..Shortly before the officers released the descriptions, another “suspicious person” was taken into custody in the area of Richmond Road and Pear Street — one block away from Tuesday’s deadly bank shooting..However, at 7 p.m. Thursday Saanich police said the two aforementioned men they remain searching for is unrelated to the man taken into custody shortly before. Moreover, officers say they have no evidence to support a connection between Tuesday’s shooting and any of the events unfolding Thursday evening..Just before 9 p.m. Victoria police posted a photo to social media of one of the sought men, adding that there is no known risk to public safety and that the large-scale response is due to an "abundance of caution.". Suspect .Anyone who sees people matching their descriptions is asked to call 250-475-432..Meanwhile, the nearby location of Tuesday's shooting remains an active crime scene with multiple police vehicles present.
