A former CBC News employee in Vancouver has been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference of a minor..Vancouver police said Vincent Papequash, 30, was arrested on July 29 in East Vancouver in connection with alleged offences that occurred that same day..In a statement to CBC News, Sgt. Steve Addison said he was released by the court and his next appearance is on Sept. 13..According to Canada’s Criminal Code, sexual interference is a charge that accuses a person of "for a sexual purpose, touches, directly or indirectly, with a part of the body or with an object, any part of the body of a person under the age of 16 years old.".Police didn't release any more details about the alleged offences, stating the "investigation is ongoing" and the case is before the courts,."Chuck Thompson, a spokesperson for CBC, said Papequash was an associate producer in CBC's Vancouver newsroom but is no longer an employee," CBC News reported..Thompson said he could provide no further details.."The allegations have not been proven in court," CBC News said..Papequash has since deleted his social media accounts and a biography page about him has been removed from the CBC News Vancouver website
