The Greater Vancouver Zoo says one of the wolves that were apparently purposely released from an enclosure Tuesday morning has been found dead on the side of a road, and another remains on the loose.."We were really hopeful for a positive outcome for all the members of our wolf pack, but tragically we were heartbroken this morning to find Chia deceased at the side of the road," said Menita Prasad, the zoo's deputy general manager..The facility has been closed since Tuesday morning while conservation officers searched for the escaped animals..In a previous statement the zoo said the incident is “suspicious” and “believed to be due to malicious intent.”.Prasad said Thursday not only the enclosure was left open but the perimeter fence was also cut..Zoo officials reiterate there is “no danger to the public," noting that the last missing wolf is a "pup.".The larger wolf's remains were found beside 264 Street in Langley Thursday morning..The zoo plans to reopen on Saturday.
