A BC RCMP-involved shooting led to the death of a man and serious injury of a woman near Keremeos, and now the Independent Investigations Office of BC (IIO BC) is investigating..Shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, the BC RCMP’s Southeast District Emergency Response Team located and attempted to arrest a man and woman for outstanding warrants in the 4100-block along Highway 3..During the arrest process, police say the man "produced a weapon” and was subsequently gunned down by police..Providing little detail, Mounties said “the incident continued” after the man was shot, causing police to also shoot the woman..The man died at the scene and the shot woman was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, said IIO BC..“Due to potential dangers at the location, the BC RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit has been contacted and will be attending the scene. The area has been cordoned off and secured,” said Dawn Roberts, BC RCMP director..Since the IIO BC is investigating, BC RCMP says it will be releasing no further information.
