One person is dead following an stabbing near Belvedere LRT station in Edmonton..On Sunday, countless police cars and EMS closed off an area on Fort Road and 129 Ave. NW..Witnesses reported seeing a body laying under a tarp at the scene as a police dog searched the area..The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) issued a release at noon and said it investigating the suspicious death of a male in northeast Edmonton..On Sunday, around 9 p.m., the EPS said officers responded to a weapons complaint at the Belvedere LRT Station in the area of 129 Avenue and Fort Road.."Upon arrival they located a deceased adult male with suspicious injuries," the EPS stated.."As a result, Homicide Section has since taken over the investigation. An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 12.".Detectives are hopeful that dash camera footage from the area may assist with their investigation and are encouraging anyone that was driving in the area of 129 Avenue and Fort Road on Sunday July 9, between the hours of 8:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., to please contact the EPS at 780-423-4567.
