United Conservative Party (UCP) leader Danielle Smith told Albertans Thursday night in Calgary she will see them at the victory party on Monday.."So let me be clear, I will not stand by and allow our beautiful cities to turn into downtown Eastside Vancouver or Seattle or Portland or San Francisco," Smith told the cheering crowd of more than 1,000.."This is the reason we're embedding sheriffs with both our Calgary and police services better patrol our streets. It's why we're putting 100 new officers on the streets without delay and implementing more gang suppression units that got guns and fentanyl and cross-border trafficking of guns and drugs and it's why we will provide ankle bracelets and 24-hour monitoring of dangerous offenders out on bail.". They want something called safe supply. Now I don't know about you but I have never heard of a safe supply of heroin or crystal meth or fentanyl. There's no such thing and that is not the path we United Conservatives will take," Smith said.."We need to help our addicts get off the street and into treatment.".The crowd rejoiced at Smith's statements as social disorder continues to be top of mind in Alberta's big cities..During Smith's speech, she also mentioned some of the NDP plans for Alberta.."There's the zero power grid by 2035 that Justin Trudeau is proposing and Rachel Notley has agreed to," Smith said.."Now the NDP doesn't want to talk about the cost of this terrible policy on Albertans. They are trying to keep the costs hidden.".Smith then told the crowd there's the Notley-Trudeau plan to "just transition Alberta" out of oil and natural gas.."Now Trudeau is calling this an emissions cap," Smith said..She then told the people in Calgary, "It's going to be here by 2030."."My dear friends, I love this province," Smith said.."We are land owners and innovators, entrepreneurs and farmers, communities and families, a place where the best and brightest from every corner of the world join us to build one of the greatest places on earth to live and work and raise our families.".Smith said she's going to fight to keep Alberta that way.."Now let's go out and win this election.
